Project Description
Red clover flower (Trifolium pratense)
Another exciting find to find this growing wild in Iceland, just on the side of the road.
🌸The flower heads are used medicinally as a depurative which is beneficial for chronic skin disorders such as dermatitis and psoriasis. Especially good for children’s skin problems eg eczema.
🍃A study compared with placebo showed “red clover isoflavone supplement in post menopausal women significantly decreased menopausal symptoms and had a positive effect on vaginal cytology and triglyceride levels” (Hidalgo et al, Gynecol Endocrinol, 2005).
🌸Dried flowers can be drunk as a tea.
Red clover is an expectorant so good for helping heal coughs and bronchitis.
🍃It has also been used traditionally as an anti-tumour medicine for cancer.

Then a comparison to white clover which is a lot smaller.
