Wildcrafting Workshop
A hands-on day in the Noosa hinterland learning to identify, ethically harvest and use medicinal plants, with one of Australia's most experienced medical herbalists.
There is nothing quite like learning herbal medicine with your hands in the soil. Amina Eastham-Hillier's Wildcrafting Workshop is a hands-on day in the beautiful Noosa hinterland, where she shares decades of knowledge about the medicinal plants growing all around us.
What you will learn
Wildcrafting is the art of identifying and ethically harvesting wild plants for food and medicine. During the workshop you can expect to explore:
- How to confidently identify common medicinal and edible plants
- Ethical, sustainable harvesting, taking only what is needed
- Traditional and historical uses of the plants you meet
- Simple ways to prepare herbs at home, such as teas and infusions
- A deeper connection to the landscape and the plants in it
It is suitable for curious beginners, students and practitioners alike, and is as much about reconnecting with nature as it is about plant knowledge.
A note on safety
Correct plant identification is essential, and some plants are unsafe or easily confused with others. The workshop teaches a careful, respectful approach, and any use of herbs at home should always be guided by a qualified practitioner.
