High-Tech Treatments

Some patients with complex chronic illness explore adjunctive high-tech therapies at specialised medical clinics. Here is a balanced overview of two Amina is often asked about.

Book a Consultation

Patients with complex, chronic illness sometimes ask Amina about high-tech therapies they have read about. This page is an educational overview, written to help you weigh them up sensibly. Importantly, these are medical procedures delivered by qualified medical practitioners at specialised clinics, not therapies offered in Amina's naturopathic practice. They are considered only as possible adjuncts within a broader, individualised plan, and always alongside your medical care.

Hyperthermia therapy

Hyperthermia uses carefully controlled heat and is offered at some specialised medical clinics. Whole-body hyperthermia, in particular, is a highly specialised procedure that must be delivered and monitored by experienced medical doctors, who track vital signs throughout.

It is sometimes explored by patients with chronic illness as an adjunctive therapy. The evidence base is still developing, responses vary from person to person, and it is not something to undertake lightly or outside a properly supervised medical setting.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)

HBOT delivers oxygen at increased pressure in a specialised chamber, usually in sessions of around 20 to 40 minutes. It has established medical uses, such as wound healing, and is being studied for a range of other applications.

Some patients with chronic conditions explore HBOT as an adjunctive therapy. As with hyperthermia, the appropriate use, dosing and suitability are medical decisions made with the clinic providing the treatment.

How Amina approaches these therapies

Amina takes an honest, measured view. She keeps up with the research, talks openly about what is and is not well established, and helps patients consider whether such therapies might have a place within their wider plan, without overselling them. Any decision to pursue them rests with you and the supervising medical practitioner.

Working together

If you would like to talk through how adjunctive therapies might fit alongside your naturopathic care, book an initial consultation or get in touch via the contact page.

This page is general information only and is not medical advice or a recommendation to undertake any particular treatment.

Common questions

Good to know

No. Hyperthermia and hyperbaric oxygen therapy are medical procedures delivered by qualified medical practitioners at specialised clinics. Amina provides naturopathic support and can discuss how such therapies might fit, if at all, within your wider plan.

No such claim is made here. These are adjunctive therapies that some patients choose to explore. The evidence varies, outcomes differ between individuals, and any decision should be made with the supervising medical practitioner.

That is a medical decision made with the clinic and practitioner providing the treatment. Amina can help you think it through as part of your overall, individualised plan.

Availability varies. Some patients access these therapies at specialised clinics in Australia and overseas. Amina can talk through the considerations during a consultation.
