Project Description
Angelica archangelica
Found this stunning plant around Iceland and now here in Norway.
Also known as Norwegian angelica. It grew abundantly around the rivers and lakes preferring damper soil.
The stems and roots are edible.
The plants only grows leaves for the first year but then in its second year it grows taller, up to 2.5 m high and then flowers that are either green or yellow.
Medicinally Angelica is used internally as a tea or tincture for infections, digestive issues, fevers ad to help tonify the nervous system.
I have yet to research more about this beautiful herb.
