Project Description
Rhodiola roseacea(Golden root – Rhodiola rosea)
Just found this beautiful herbaceous plant here in Iceland after searching high and low.
I’m ecstatic as I use this herb in my clinic for patients often for adrenal depletion, exhaustion and to help deal with stress.

Actions: Adaptogenic, anti-tumour, tonic and anti-oxidant.
Safety: Caffeine is best avoided with this herb and take it two hours away from mineral supplements.
Dose: 20-40 mL/week (2:1 liquid) or 6-12 g/day (tablet)
Rhodiola is another favourite herb I often use for Lyme patients with adrenal depletion, mental fatigue and stress. It is a very gentle yet powerful herb for the adrenal glands. This is an ideal herb for patients of chronic immune deficiency to improve physical and mental performance.
Under the guidelines of the practitioner, Rhodiola is also supportive for patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy for cancer.
Beneficial effects on learning and memory processes have been researched and stress-protective properties may play a role in cognitive function improvement (Vasileva et al, 2016). Recent findings show significant reduction in anxiety, stress, anger, confusion and depression (Cropley et al, 2015).
Significant analgesic activity and anti-inflammatory activities have been found in rat studies (Doncheva et al, 2013).
Possible anti-depressant actions have been noted in a study showing the effect on various levels of regulation of cell response to stress. The study looked at effecting components of the neuroendocrine neurotransmitter receptor, and molecular networks associated with beneficial effects on mood and found that Rhodiola may be useful in depression (Amsterdam et al, 2016).
